Future of Hope is a documentary film following individuals that strive to change the world of consumerism, a system of credit and debt that the Icelandic economy was built upon for the past 10 years or more. Focusing on sustainable developments in organic farming, business, innovation, renewable energy and the environment - filled with positivity and emotion as we are taken on a story of struggle, determination and most importantly... hope. From the midnight sun, to dark winters lit only by the snow, from geysers to volcanoes, this movie truly explores the magnificent country of Iceland. Future of Hope takes you on a journey from the history to the present and even into the future of a new and sustainable Iceland.



Henry Bateman

Henry Bateman has spent the last eleven years working in broadcast media all over the world for most of the major networks including the BBC, SKY, CNN as a cameraman, director and producer. He has covered global events such as the Asian Tsunami, the violent Nepalese general election and the 2008 earthquake in China. In all three of these self-produced assignments he was highly commended for the exclusive stories he provided for millions of viewers worldwide. He is passionate about pointing the lens at people and stories that would otherwise not receive public attention and has drawn on his socio-political experience for Future of Hope' which is the first feature length film that he has filmed and directed. Coming from a background in news and current affairs Henry also has broad experience shooting everything from natural history documentaries to music, sports and drama.
